资格
Students must be in good standing at Pitzer. The University of Birmingham requires students to have a 2.8 or higher GPA. Preference is given to juniors and first semester seniors but sophomores are eligible if space is available.

准备
At least one European area studies course in literature or film, 历史, or political studies is strongly recommended. Suggested additional general preparation options include: Comparative Politics; Intercultural Communications; Language Culture and Society; Introduction to Inter国家/ Intercultural Studies; Introduction to Sociocultural Anthropology.

应用程序
Students must first apply through Pitzer’s Office of 出国留学 and Inter国家 项目. If accepted by Pitzer, students will then be asked to complete the Birmingham application.

Required Courses
Participants are expected to take one course that includes content on British 历史, 政治, literature or culture, and the Pitzer course MLLC110 Intercultural Learning: Portfolio Writing 通过酒井法子.

课程的选择
Courses in the humanities, social sciences, 历史 and 政治 are the most easily arranged. From the main page http://www.birmingham.ac.uk, go to the Undergraduate tab, then choose “course finder”. Guidelines for choosing modules (classes) may be found at Course Information.

信贷可能
Students must take a full Birmingham course load, which is 60 units in order to earn four course credits at Pitzer. 60 units means 3 classes that are worth 20 units each or 6 classes that are worth 10 units each or a combination thereof. In addition, students will earn 0.5 Pitzer course credits for the writing course 通过酒井法子. (See above under Required Courses.)

Housing and Board Options
Students live in university accommodations located about a 30 minute walk from the campus. Students locate their own housing with assistance from the Housing Office in Birmingham. Students receive a stipend to prepare their own meals.

Additional Notes
Students are accepted by an individual department, and university policies make it difficult to register in classes in more than one department, although one course in another department may be possible.
